Dr. Rinku V. Mehta is the Medical director of Frisco Institute for Reproductive medicine. She is board certified in Reproductive endocrinology and Infertility and has been treating couples with all causes of infertility since 2003. She has helped hundreds of patients successfully start their families. Helping patients realize their dreams of building a family is a source of great fulfillment for her. Having made the fertility journey herself, Dr. Mehta understands the emotional roller-coaster and anxiety that dealing with infertility brings to many couples. With the commitment of providing the most personal, individualized care, Dr. Mehta sees every patient herself at every visit and performs all sonograms/procedures herself.
Dr. Mehta graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of North Texas in Denton and then went on to medical school at the University of Texas in Galveston, where she graduated with honors and was selected for membership in the prestigious alpha omega alpha medical honor society. While in medical school she won several awards and tutored fellow students in neuroscience and was the president of Phi Rho Sigma medical fraternity. She also spent time volunteering at a local charity clinic. She then completed her Ob/Gyn residency at the University of Texas at Galveston followed by subspecialty fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of California San Diego which is renowned for its research in Reproductive biology. Dr. Mehta has actively pursued research in embryo development and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and published several articles in leading journals as well as co-authored a book chapter. Dr. Mehta has also previously held academic appointments at UTMB Galveston and UT Southwestern medical school. She serves as a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Androgen Excess Society, Texas Medical Association and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society.
Dr. Mehta's areas of special interest include PCOS, obesity, fertility preservation, ovarian aging and hysteroscopic surgery. Dr. Mehta has been voted one of America's Top Obstetricians and Gynecologists every year since 2009 by the Consumer Research Council of America. She has also been seen selected as a “Rising Star” 2012 by Texas Super Docs magazine and she received the “Patient’s choice award” for 2012. Treatments offered include ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination (IUI), reproductive surgery including laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, in vitro fertilization (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), oocyte cryopreservation, pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), and third party reproduction with donor egg, donor sperm, and surrogacy.
